About Currency Converter Worldwide

Currency Converter Worldwide is a free currency converter and set of travel-money tools published by DixonAppStudio LLC, a small independent software studio in Elgin, South Carolina, that builds free calculators, tools and apps.

What the site does

• Converts between 21 major currencies at the mid-market rate, with the date of the rate shown.
• Shows a 30-day history chart for pairs covered by the European Central Bank.
• Plans a trip budget in the local currency with the travel budget converter, and reveals hidden exchange margins with the markup calculator.
• Publishes country travel money guides and articles on timing and fees.

Where the rates come from

Rates are the European Central Bank's euro reference rates, published once each working day around 16:00 CET, retrieved through the free Frankfurter service. For currencies the ECB does not publish, a commercial feed is used; the UAE dirham is pegged to the US dollar at 3.6725. These are mid-market reference rates: banks and exchange services add their own margin.

The app

The Currency Converter Worldwide app for Android and iPhone adds offline conversions with saved rates and more travel tools.
