ILS to USD over the last 30 days
Over the 23 ECB working days from 2 Sept 2026 to 2 Oct 2026, 1 ILS ranged from 0.3251 USD (1 Oct 2026) to 0.3325 USD (4 Sept 2026), averaging 0.3294. Today's 0.3262 is below that average by 0.96%.
For 1,000 ILS, that range is the difference between 325.08 and 332.49 USD: 7.41 USD, or 2.28% of the low. The biggest one-day move was -1.05% on 24 Sept 2026.
Example: a bank or card that sets its rate 3% worse than mid-market would pay 316.45 USD for 1,000 ILS today instead of 326.23, keeping 9.79 USD. That 3% is more than this rate's whole 30-day range, so the margin you pay matters more than the day you convert.

About the two currencies
The Israeli New Shekel (ILS) is issued by the Bank of Israel and used in Israel, and alongside the Jordanian dinar in the Palestinian territories. The new shekel replaced the old shekel in 1985 at 1,000 to 1. Israel's technology exports and foreign investment bring in large dollar flows that move it.
The United States Dollar (USD) is issued by the Federal Reserve and used in the United States and its territories, and also Ecuador, El Salvador, Panama (alongside the balboa), Timor-Leste, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau and several Caribbean territories. It is the world's main reserve and invoicing currency: oil, most commodities and a large share of world trade are priced in dollars, which is why so many cross rates are worked out through it.
