EUR to CHF over the last 30 days
Over the 23 ECB working days from 2 Sept 2026 to 2 Oct 2026, 1 EUR ranged from 0.9279 CHF (2 Oct 2026) to 0.9478 CHF (30 Sept 2026), averaging 0.9425. Today's 0.9279 is below that average by 1.55%.
For 1,000 EUR, that range is the difference between 927.90 and 947.80 CHF: 19.90 CHF, or 2.14% of the low. The biggest one-day move was -1.67% on 2 Oct 2026.
Example: a bank or card that sets its rate 3% worse than mid-market would pay 900.06 CHF for 1,000 EUR today instead of 927.90, keeping 27.84 CHF. That 3% is more than this rate's whole 30-day range, so the margin you pay matters more than the day you convert.
Who converts EUR to CHF, and why
Euros to francs is used by about 400,000 cross-border commuters (frontaliers) from France, Germany, Italy and Austria working in Switzerland, by skiers and visitors, and by businesses trading with Swiss firms.
- Converting a Swiss salary for living costs in France, Germany or Italy
- Budgeting a Swiss ski or rail holiday
- Paying Swiss suppliers from a euro account
Tip: Cross-border workers receive francs and pay costs in euros every month, so a small difference in margin adds up over a year. Compare your bank's monthly conversion against a specialist provider.
About the two currencies
The Euro (EUR) is issued by the European Central Bank and the national central banks of the euro area and used in 21 EU member states (Bulgaria became the 21st on 1 January 2026), plus Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City by agreement, and Montenegro and Kosovo unilaterally. Coins run from 1 cent to €2 and notes from €5 to €200 in daily use. The €500 note is no longer issued but remains legal tender. The ECB publishes the reference rates this site uses.
The Swiss Franc (CHF) is issued by the Swiss National Bank and used in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The franc is a traditional safe haven that tends to strengthen in global sell-offs. The 1,000-franc note is one of the highest-value banknotes in circulation anywhere.
